Rabb and Leaf in the first round as well.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

if I were Leaf, I would pull a Poeltl and come back for another year to get stronger and get into the lottery.

But you are a Utah fan and thus want him to leave as soon as possible.

Markennan will be the best player from this draft

I can't help but to think that the Jazz would kill for Markennan. They could trade Favors and let Lauri and Lyles handle the 4, rotating small with Lauri at 5 when Gobert is out. It won't happen unless the Jazz trade way up (which would probably cost them a lot more than Favors) but it is fun to think about the fit.

The Jazz will probably be in the 20s. I'd wager they could move up to 9 for not much more than favors. He is a 16 and 8 guy just hitting his prime and very cheap.

I wish the jazz would trade up and get lonzo. I think he is better than exum today.

If they make their free throws USC should win. Now up 11 with 1:20

Since we beat USC by 22, this USC win, which puts USC at 18-4, has to make our body of work look better.

Yes, this makes us 1-4 instead of 0-4 vs tournament teams.

  17. #707
We really should have beaten UCLA. If we miss the tourney that will be the one we look back at and kick ourselves.

It will go down in history as the timo. The stab in the back.

Bad decision. But no 1-point loss can be blamed on a single play. We never should have been in that position at the end of the game. I think the platooning of starters was a bigger mistake, and I bet we'll see a different rotation tonight.

Speaking of which I thought of you Saturday. Seth Davis was discussing the end of overtime in the DePaul Butler game. One team got a rebound with less than 10 seconds, pushed the ball upcourt and scored the winning basket as time expired. Seth said "I want to commend the coach who did not call time out. That is what you do; you never call time out in that situation, and most coaches do it anyway. So congrats to the coach." (I cant remember which team was which.)

Ha! That's nice of you but it's common sense. Pat has also been pissed about Kodiak's timeouts in those situations--which seem never to work out. End of game, your team rebounds the ball or steals it, and the margin is one score, it's just one of those terrifying times in life where you have to cede control and hope for the best to maximize the chance for success. It's every parent's biggest anxiety, but ultimately a great coach and a great parent makes him or herself irrelevant.

Let's accuse LK of the right mistake: He didn't call timeout, Bonam did. The coaches should have told the team what to do after the free throw. That's the mistake. LK needs to get much better at end-of-game situations.

USC trailed 37-27 at the half last night vs. UW and scored 55 points in the second half en route to an 82-74 win over the Huskies. Keep that RPI top 25 win alive for us boys!

Boatwright is back for usc. If everything works for us in February, we may have to beat those guys again in Vegas.

Seems to me he's becoming a joke and now has a reputation. Referees are not going to keep giving him flop calls.
