Watching a little Arizona-Oregon before Utah's game. Oregon's defense is elite when they are really dialed in. So much athleticism and length and well-coached. It's tough to get decent looks on these guys if they are going with high intensity.

I can't believe Dana Altman didn't pull his starters with 12 minutes left in the game. What the heck? That's what the great Utah team would have done.

Sean Miller sure seems like a pretty good guy. Seems always very respectful to his opponents, win, lose, or blow-out.

it was with 8 minutes left, and it was against the worst team in the conference, not Arizona.

    Was being funny.

Hell of a game between Oregon and UCLA. Ducks blow a 19 point lead and the Bruins win by 3. Crazy.

    Who is the conference POY?

    How about the all-freshman team?

    Ball, Markennen, Fultz, Leaf, and...?

Alkins? Daniels? I'm sure I'm missing someone obvious.

What about that freshman PG from Cal? Found his name...Charlie Moore. He did his part of torching our defense, including that game-winning oop pass.

Yeah, 14 ppg with almost 4 apg. Those are better stats than the two I listed.

With UW performing so poorly in recent years (no NCAA invites since 2011), Romar's seat just keeps getting hotter. If he gets the boot after this season I can't help but wonder if Krystko goes to the top of their short list.

Working in our favor though is that Romar has a pretty significant buyout with two years remaining on his contract. In addition to that, they have a dream recruiting class coming in next year, including Michael Porter. I don't know if the administration would want to mess that up by firing Romar.

Pretty sweet situation for whoever takes his place.

We need Larry for long enough to turn this job into the kind of job that people don't leave. It's tough to be in the stepping-stone zone.

As long as we are entertaining nightmare scenarios, Kuzma graduates this year. He could transfer with no penalty to a contender.

Romar is a recruiting madman. He has a top 5 pick this year, had a likely top 5 pick next year, and a few years ago had a player who is on the short list for NBA MVP (Isaiah Thomas).

But they just can't find a way to get it together. I can't see Romar anywhere near UW next year.

If Krystkowiak leaves I hope like hell that he blasts Hughes and the Utah legislature on the way out. (And with any luck Hughes will be headed to prison with Swallow anyhow)

Since we are playing the "What if" game...who would be on your short list of replacements?

Colorado improved to 6-8 in league play since starting 0-7. Not bad.

Everything last night went pretty much as expected.

    Go Stanford.

Stanford just gave us the help we need. Our boys better show up the rest of the way.

This also should ensure that we play two and maybe three RPI top 100 teams in the next four.

When they say that Oregon is a bad match up for us, they ain't kidding. Buffs hanging tough early.

Here's a blog post by a university of Oregon professor who seems to be a bit of a contrarian.

Fans lose interest, Dana Altman can’t match Mac Court attendance from 1977

Howland would be perfect for Utah and for Howland. Some coaches are better off without all top shelf recruits. He's not as eccentric as Majerus.

I hope he's on Hill's short list (or that of Hill's successor) if Krysko leaves.

I like Larry and I hope he wins some of these recruiting battles to put us over the top. I understand he's still a young man in the coaching game and Utah likely won't be his last job. But going to another Pac-12 school because the recruiting grass is greener there would be treasonous. He was not a hot commodity when Utah gave him a second bite at the apple.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Larry stay here honestly. I've spoken with many people who know Larry and he and his wife both think Salt Lake and the U are his dream job.

Yeah, that's more likely to happen than him leaving for another P-12 school, IMO.

Between the history we endured with Majerus and Meyer, as well as the uncontrollable thoughts and opinions of the Fanboy segment of the fanbase, you find more opining on Larry taking a job elsewhere than what's logical. There might be 30 programs in America that objective observers can look at and say, "Oh yeah, that's a better job than Utah ..." or "There's a lot of untapped potential at that school." I also think Larry realizes how good he has it. The idea of him entertaining other schools/offers just seems as absurd in practicality as it is unwarranted with regard to his accomplishments at Utah.

I think he has a lot more to prove at Utah before he becomes a hot commodity.
