Crazy turnovers by osu. Incredibly they are still in the lead.

I wonder how many yards per down OSU is averaging? Oregon cannot stop them. Has OSU even punted in this game?

In the first half. None in the second. 4 TO's may influence that somewhat. Amazing they are up with -4 turnover margin.

I never expected Oregon to just fall apart and lay down.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Well hopefully this game will make Whittingham rethink a few things.

Ohio State went for it on 4th and 1 near midfield, got it. Ohio State had 4 turnovers, still blowing them out.

I'm not suggesting that going for it on every 4th down is a good thing, or turning the ball over is a good thing. But it looks like Ohio State will win the national championship being aggressive, not playing the "no turnovers at all costs, ultra conservative offense" not to lose style that Utah played most of the season.

I think OSU scoring that last TD was lame.

Ditto. Oregon was just letting the clock run. If they had been calling time outs then fine. Otherwise it was lame.

Please. You can't be serious. What kind of world do you think we live in.

On that play, when herbstreit said it was in the nature of both UM and Helfrich to be aggressive and attack attack attack, I thought, "I wish KW had that gene somewhere in his DNA." The genius of UM is he knows how and when to do it. He doesnt want to win by nine instead of two.

No; you should have learned something; but as usual all you hear is the roar of your own head. This game isn't about pretty uniforms and fancy formations. It's about defense and eating yardage and time, like Whittingham and Urban football.

Had it not been for Kaelin Clay's obscene moranity we would have beaten Oregon. I will always believe that, and I will never get over my rage at Kaelin Clay. Did you guys see that statistic that Oregon has not come back form 14 down since October 2, 2010? When Ohio State went up 14 they said that this the most -- 14 points -- that Oregon has been down this season. That made me want to puke. Still we were only down 30-27 in the fourth quarter. Just doing arithmetic we'd have bee up 34-23 in the fourth quarter but for Clay's debacle.

Urban Meyer is likely the greatest of all time. He will win more national championships. This game was dominating.

No kidding. If you cant stop it then don't complain about it.

The Ducks embarrass the PAC. Yet again.

So, if this was the old BCS system, and the games ended a week and a half ago, would Oregon have been voted national champions, would Ohio State?

It's great to have a playoff.

I am a pessimist so I believe the BCS sChampionship game would have been FSU-BAMA. And Banana would have obliterated FSU.

Just a matter of opinion, SU, on which reasonable sports fans disagree. You're spending too much time with the old crowd on TMBFKACUF. It has warped your sense of proportion. You need to spend more time here. We can help you.

Question: During the game, I wondered if Utah's front 7 would have matched up better than Oregon's? I thought we would have put more pressure on Jones, and would have been better at stopping the inside runs. Secondary? I don't know about that.

I agree. And more pressure on Jones would have helped the secondary. I think OSU's run game was their heart and soul on offense.

Defense? Lol, Ohio State had 4 turnovers, which I believe only lead to 7 points. If Oregon's offense could have cashed in on what their defense gave them, they'd have won it going away.

Ohio State had 538 yards of total offense. They never attempted a field goal. They averaged 10.5 yards per completed pass. They went for it on 4th down on their own side of the field, when they had a 4 point lead.

This was absolutely not the ultra conservative, play not to lose, take no chances offense that Whittingham runs.

By the way, I agree with you about Clay. I think we'd have won that game if it weren't for that play. I also think we'd have beaten Washington State if we went for it on 4th and inches, and we'd have beaten Arizona State if we'd thrown the ball more.

    Coulda, shoulda, woulda...

Well I think Urban would have prepared for that and his gameplan would have exploited a different weakness.

He did his homework and knew Oregon would struggle with this game plan. If he was going against Utah, he'd have destroyed us in a different way.

I'm sure Whit would have made a better game of it than 59-0.

I don't know if he would have or not. Arizona won 42-10 in Salt Lake. Ohio State is obviously a much better team, and much better coached than Arizona. What would Urban have done instead, if the game was not in Salt Lake, and he knew they needed to jump some teams to get into the playoff?

I'm reminded of that 2010 TCU game, also in Salt Lake.

BYU is still seeking divine guidance on how to lovingly help the sinners repent.
