I'm responding to posters who sanctimoniously were saying they cared more about the basketball commitment. The fact is, what was going on in football recruiting and basketball recruiting were two different things. Most of us here recognize basketball's special place. But one three star verbal commit isn't the same thing as signing your whole verbally committed class, which is the best football class ever.

The fact that life evolved out of nearly nothing, some 10 billion years after the universe evolved out of literally nothing, is a fact so staggering that I would be mad to attempt words to do it justice.

Not all of us are taking all this stuff so seriously. Using the word sanctimoniously is a bit heavy, I think.

    Plus, not everything is binary.

You should string together the first letter of each word in my post. No secret decoder ring needed.

(And you're right about the greatness of the class.)

Oh great. Now you're forcing me to go back and re-decode every post you've ever made.

I've never done it before but may do it again. Just want to keep you guys off-balance.

Off-balance is treated as one word. Drop the B at the end and it makes sense.

Just making sure that my reputation pious devotion to Ute basketball above football remains intact.

You have an erroneous 'R' in there. No wonder it didn't make sense.

In the last couple of days, we have offered Mark Smith from Edwardsville, IL. True to form, the Cal Bears offered him almost immediately after.

Also appears that we are still in the running for the big Aussie Jacob Epperson. Perhaps Bogut can give him a call on behalf of the program.

Gary Anderson is in charge of Cal basketball recruiting? Who knew.

If they somehow get all these guys there would be some scholarship issues...here's my hot take...if Zamora keeps losing minutes PVD, the practice all-star, he'l transfer out. I'll hang up and listen.
“It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.”

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

You never get all the guys you want, but if we do get Epperson and Smith, I think Jokl is on the bottom of the totem pole.

After Tillman, we have two slots open. Smith and Epperson would fit in perfectly.

Basketball recruiting information is hard to come by, even at the pay sites. I have no idea how seriously we are in the running for either of these guys, but if we landed both, I think we could call this an extremely successful recruiting year that meets all of our needs.

Just watched a video of Smith -- I like him. Tough. Can shoot. Crafty. Though, the video does not show much of his ability to distribute.

Emmanuel Akot is taking his official visit for the Cal game. Sounds like he loved his visit to U of A. I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling we're 2nd place.

We're always 2nd place with the really good ones. That's the story of Utah basketball for the past decade.

When you visit UA over the weekend and visit us midweek, that is not a good sign I suppose.

I must put a stop to this nonsense. Isn't Akot a 2018 kid? You are using the wrong thread. You will be drawn and quartered!

Ha! I'm generally still optimistic about the program, but how many times have we finished #2 for a big recruit in the past 10 years? At some point, it becomes the norm.
