    Football! I love you, football.

    Thursday:

Before the Utes kick off tomorrow, the die hard college football fanatic can watch PJ Fleck's debut at Minnesota (5:00).

During the Utah game, keep an eye on the OSU/Indiana score. Maybe things will get interesting.

    Friday:

CSU vs CU is the main event. You can grab a first look at UW (@ Rutgers) during commercials.

    Saturday morning:

Maryland @ Texas. Herman era begins in Austin.
Cal @ UNC. Wilcox era begins for bears.

    Saturday afternoon:

Michigan @ Florida. One of the two big, big match-ups in week 1.
NCState @ South Carolina. The only other P5/P5 game of the afternoon.

    Saturday evening:

FSU @ Bama. Even though you want them both to lose, this is a must watch. This is what they really mean when they say we are in the golden age of television.
Louisville @ Purdue is the only other P5 on P5 action in this time slot. This is not what they mean when they say we are in the golden age of television.

    Saturday late:

Get some rest or watch a Pac-12 team beat up on an FCS team.

    Sunday evening:

WVU vs VaTech. Another ranked/ranked game.
A&M @ UCLA at the same time! Thank you, football. for coming back!

    Labor Day evening:

    Tennessee @ GT

For the record, I read this (and appreciated it).

Bama always looks like they're one order of magnitude bigger, faster, and stronger than their opponent.

Am I missing a game? Only one P5 has lost to a non-P5 so far (CSU beating OSU). That is well below the average for week 1. Could be an anomaly, but it could be an indication of separation.

UNLV loses as a 45.5 point favorite to Howard. Largest spread upset ever.

    Yup, forgot that one. Thanks

A P5 school losing to an FCS team couldn't really have happened to a more deserving school, unless it was Penn State!

I saw a tweet on that last night. A $100 bet on Howard paid about $2200.

    Amazing.

Four can't miss games this week, and they're all at the same time. Come on!

    Thursday: just watch the NFL.

Friday: Take your wife to dinner.

    Saturday morning:

    Northwestern @ Duke nerd bowl.
But there's also Louisville @ UNC and Iowa @ Iowa State (in-state rivalry #1).

    Saturday early afternoon:

    Pitt @ Penn State (in-state rivalry #2)
TCU @ Arkansas looks pretty good.
Keep an eye on Western Michigan @ Michigan State. The Mustangs hung with USC for 3 quarters last week.

    Mid afternoon:

    Nebraska @ Oregon.

Evening - all four games between ranked opponents!

    Auburn @ Clemson
    Oklahoma @ Ohio State
    Georgia @ Notre Dame
    Stanford @ USC

    Late night:

    Utah @ BYU (in-state rivalry #3)
Three Pac-12 teams (Zona, ASU, and Wazzu) are playing good G5 teams, so check for upset potential during Holy War commercial breaks.

    Week 3!

Thursday night: New Mexico @ Boise St. No team was screwed by realignment as much as Boise. We are witnessing the fall of the Broncos. I know, for some weird reason, Utah fans are happy about this, but college football was better with a great Boise St. The NFL game is a dud on Thurs, so might as well watch this.

Friday night: Illinois @ USF. I guess this game is still on? Rare ranked G5 vs unranked P5 game. Arizona @ UTEP is the late game if you want to scout our next opponent.

    Sat morning:

The Hurricane took away the game of the week (Miami @ FSU). We'll have to make do with:

    Okie St @ Pitt
    UCLA @ Memphis

    Sat afternoon:

Tennessee @ Florida. Early big SEC East game.
SMU @ TCU. Both 2-0? Not much in this time slot.

Sat evening is where the action really starts:

Clemson @ Louisville. This is the can't miss game of the week. Clemson has been dominating, and Lamar Jackson has been electric.
Texas @ USC. Herman has a huge opportunity here to accelerate the Longhorn rebuild.
    LSU @ Miss St.

    Sat late games:

    SJSU @ Utah.
Check out Stanford @ SDSU and Ole Miss @ Cal during breaks in the main event.

As an alternative tomorrow, for our Utah friends, you can also enjoy Lone Peak @ Kearns at 7p or on KJZZ. On paper, it should be a great game.

Of course on Friday, there are a lot of good HS games.

Utah State routed at Wake Forest. In two weeks, USU/BYU is "stoppable force meets movable object."

I forgot to post this last week.

This happened in the days after Ohio State/Oklahoma game.

Week 4 is here! Kinda. It will be here on Fri.

Thurs night. Temple at USF. Not much to see here. I guess Flowers for USF is supposed to be great. Might be worth a watch.

    Fri night. Now you're talking.

UVA @ BSU as a warmup to Utah @ Zona

    Not much on Sat morning:

NCState @ FSU. First game for 'noles with new QB.

Sat early afternoon really takes off:

TCU @ Okie State. Who doesn't like lots of points?
    USC @ Cal.
Duke @ UNC. Why play for the victory bell in September?
Michigan @ Purdue. Boilermakers look like a new program with new coach.

    Sat evening:

MSU @ UGA. Big time. Bulldogs thrashed LSU last week.
    Notre Dame @ MSU.

    Sat late game:

UW @ CU. Huge Pac-12 game.
We have both Oregon @ ASU (points!) and UCLA @ Stanford during commercial breaks in the UW game.

The return of P5 Thursday night football!

    Texas @ ISU tonight

    Cancel date night on Friday:

Miami @ Duke followed by USC @ Wazzu

    Sat morning:

Pick your Big10 game: Northwestern @ Wisconsin or Maryland @ Minnesota

Sat early afternoon is not spectacular, but it's alright:

    Indiana @ Penn St
    Georgia @ Tennessee
    ASU @ Stanford

    Sat late afternoon:

MSU @ Auburn. Which bulldogs show up?

    Sat evening:

Clemson @ Va Tech. Game of the day.
Ole Miss @ Bama. You never know.

    Sat PacBeforeDawn:

    CU @ UCLA
    Cal @ Oregon

Thanks. I hate bye weeks. On normal game days, watching other games feels like a warm-up to the real event. Bye week games just make me listless. However, this weekend I'll be flying all day Saturday, so it won't be as bad.

I'm excited for UCS @ Wazzu, I think that should be a close one

Yeah, we are all big Wazzu fans this week. Go Cougars! (ew, that feels gross to type).

Gross. I can't do it. I'll probably pull for USC.

What!?! If Utah has any chance at the PAC 12 South title, we need USC to lose at any opportunity.

I know, I know. I just don't like Wazzu. I don't like that they are becoming good. In the tier structure of the pac-12, there is only so much room in tier 2. I want Wazzu to drop to tier 3 so there's plenty of room for us.

I figure we'll just go 9-0 and leave 8-1 USC in 2nd place.
