    Chat Room?

Any word on the chat feature? Game time chats are always a good thing.

I am still trying to find an acceptable plug in. So far, not much luck, but I will keep looking.

The Oregon site I post on from time to time uses a java plugin for their chat room

What is the site, and I will go check it out.

I too like the chat function. UtahDan and I used to use it when we were insomniacs.

    Jarid (and everybody),

Is it time to start the Chat function during games? I know I was one who pushed back against it initially, but perhaps it is time to move ahead. Chat certainly is preferable to attempting to discuss the game in real-time in the game thread.

    Food for thought...

I think it's a fine idea but I have no idea how to do it. Not sure who does.

A bit off Topic but I just noticed some folks on utefans saying they emailed to get a login here and never got a response.

Just a heads up for those in charge.

Thanks. I'll find someone who knows how to fix things around here.

You know, all due respect to OrangeUte, but this site needs to be run by someone with some real computer savvy; I'm not sure a lawyer is the be all and end all for that calling. That whatever it is--that porno blob--is still infecting this site. I nominate U-Ute. He even founded the original Utefans.

We are in negotiations with U-Ute now. Seriously, he has accepted and we're getting him "in the saddle," so to speak. Great minds think alike....

Anyone know if the porn thing here has been fixed? (I've never seen it so I probably can't confirm if it's resolved or not). I have a couple of guys I want to recommend the site to, but not until that's taken care of.

I've never seen it either. Is it still a problem?

Yes, I just did a test again, it is very easy to duplicate. Google 'utahby5' and click on the top link and it will redirect you to porn. You might want to use 'Incognito' or private browsing mode (both to keep it out of your history and also to have a fresh browser).

If you come directly to the site, like I do, you won't have an issue. If you come from Google like I did by accident the first time I discovered the issue you'll note in the URL that a session string is added to the end and that likely is what is creating the redirect. However, it won't do it a second time if you click from Google, so it is somewhat subversive.

It is frankly pretty concerning it is still around and makes me wonder what info has been compromised with user info.

I'm not sure if it's porn or not (no pics) but yes, this happens to me also. I get redirected to some wordy document with pop ups saying I need to down load or update something. I click out and click back onto Utahby5 and it brings me to the site. It happens with Google and yahoo/Firefox.

I was able to reproduce this using IE and Chrome, but not Firefox. Firefox is my primary browser, so there may be some history it is taking shortcuts with or some other difference where I'm not seeing it.

I use Firefox at work and Tapatalk while on my phone and have never encountered the issues addressed above.

I don't think you'll see this under TapaTalk. It is a browser related issue that appears to be a common hack to vBulletin installations. I've also noticed that it doesn't seem to appear on my other browsers now as well. It may be a "first time we see this browser" kind of hack.

The board techno-savants are working on this.

I hate to be a back seat driver, but this doesn't seem like our best move.

Please stop posting that photo of SU. You know he's sensitive about that one.

Just FYI -- one of my friends tried registering today, he said he gets a blank white screen after hitting submit.

Just an update: I was redirected to adult friend finder when I tried to access from my work computer. It turns out that site is not for arranging play dates for adults. Or it is, depending on your idea of a play date.

Anyway, anybody know of any job openings?

Looks like my fat fingers deleted my post I was trying to edit.
Not sure if this helps or not but the redirect I seem to always get is filestore72.info

Yeah. I have noticed that too. When I have the credentials I hope to quickly fix it.

It appears it only happens if a particular cookie isn't set. Not sure which cookie it is but I don't see it unless I clear my cookies.

It seems that the redirects have been fixed, at least for me. Thanks to U-Ute I believe.
