    Big Rider Seeks Advice

I've been training for a sprint triathlon, and I think I'm ready to get a road bike. I've been using my mountain bike with road tires, which works great, but if I decide to do longer triathlons, I think I'll want to switch to a road bike.

Any recommendations on frame, wheels, etc. that can handle a big (but rapidly shrinking) man?

Best advice that I received when buying a bike was to establish a relationship with a local bike shop. Talk with the owner about your specific needs, and how you expect to use the bike. They may allow you to take one for an extended test ride (over night, etc), so that you can get a good feel for for the bike, and how your butt will feel after a 15 mile ride.
