I'm too young to have friends get cancer.

One third of the CB/CUF viking trio was just diagnosed with late stage cancer.

It is devastating.

Shit, man. I hope there's some hope out there. I just had a friend diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer, and he's dropping $45,000 to go to Tijuana for that Gerson Treatment stuff. I can't fault him; they've told him it's inoperable and offered him palliative care. Hay golpes en la vida tan fuertes....yo no sé.

Thanks amigo. We find friends, celebrate their successes, mourn their struggles and hope for the best.

The silver lining is that though I'm technically an apostate, I'm deeply spiritual and have been able to share my views about the long long run in life. I believe that life is not coincidental and though chaos dominates, there's a certain organization to it all.

Surgery was "very successful". Did not metastasize. Everyone is pretty positive and stunned at how much the prognosis has changed from diagnosis until now. Maybe the new doc MO is to make people think the worst and when it's not the worst, they feel like you're a miracle worker? Any way, I don't care as long as she is going to be ok.

Thanks for the many private messages I've received from folks here and old friends on CUF.

As an aside, you Utahns of Scandinavian descent need to remember to always wear sunscreen...a family member who lives there had his second (in last six months) malignant growth removed from his face this week.

Viking-

I'm glad for the good news. Did they find that the cancer was not as aggressive (grade) or not spread as far as they thought (stage)? Prayers for things to continue in a positive direction.

Was not as late stage as they thought. We are just all hugely relieved.
