Silicon, not silicone.

First, Software Engineer is now The most popular job in Utah (http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2015/02/05/382664837/map-the-most-common-job-in-every-state?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=20150205).

How that happened (http://www.npr.org/2012/03/12/148252561/on-utahs-silicon-slopes-tech-jobs-get-a-lift).

All aboard!

(And ironic. I do my job even with the bus driver hat for our dress uniform being so awful ;) )

I was on board with this article (http://www.newyorker.com/business/currency/utah-became-next-silicon-valley) until this happened:

Utah turns out to also have features in common with other places involved in the super-sector: local universities that graduate a lot of S.T.E.M. students (most notably, Brigham Young University);

So, a sincere question: is BYU really known much more for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) graduates than the U? I'm not gonna lie. That surprised me a bit that they got the mention. At worst, I would have figured it was a push between the two schools, but in all of my Ute exceptional-ism bias, I thought Utah had the Y pretty well owned in those categories.

Isn't it just saying that BYU "graduate[s] a lot of STEM students"?

Yes. But I have a hard time believing they graduate more STEM students than the U. It seems strange to single them out.

Be nice. The "we were more awesomer in high school" smack is all they have left.

A short video demo of a game created by a couple of students in the U of U's Game Design program. It was a Student Showcase winner at the 2014 Independent Game Festival awards. It is a two player cooperative game where one player has the top down map view and helps the other player who is running around in 3D. This video shows the two views side by side under the shots of the players.

This is great. I've had opportunity the past month or two to spend a lot of time in Utah County, it seems like every stupid idea is getting funding right now. Weird place.
