Four issues surrounding the Supreme Court ruling on assisted death

A Supreme Court of Canada ruling that cleared the way for doctors to help competent, grievously ill adults end their lives leaves legislators and medical regulators to decide how the new aid-in-dying regime would work. Here are four major issues they are likely to face.

Maybe a new medical specialty will emerge. We are now used to hospitalists; why not suicidalists?

So would this negate a life insurance policy? Additionally, could you negotiate with your health insurance provider (or government entity if it's socialized)? For example, if you're expected to live for another 2 years but need all kinds of health care (drugs, in-home assistance, hospitalization, etc.) that would be covered, could you negotiate with your insurer and agree to an assisted suicide if they pay your family 75% of the expected cost for you to stay alive?

You're thinking like a lawyer. I'm so sorry.
