So here's a dumb questions for you all from a non MoMo

How are the missionaries chosen to go to each mission?

I mean if i'm a 18 year old wanting to serve and really want to go out of country but then get a calling to SLC i'd be pissed

I saw that man. The growth there is all due to us baby!

Didn't Kaohsiung open when you were there? That one closed last year.

It opened a year or two after I left, closed down a couple year after that. Conversions there were pathetic.

They are smart to expand the number of missions in Africa, Brazil, the Phillipines, and Cntral America. Those places are far more likely to have people interested in joining the church than Europe (especially), Japan, USA, etc.

I will try to find the link listing the newly called mission presidents. I recognize several of the names, including one from my parents' stake and one of my dad's close business associates.

The one who stood out most was former Utah Senate President (and de facto Prohibitionist Freedom Fighter) Michael Waddoups, who will be the MP in Rome.

You had best watch out, LA. You may find yourself on a short list to be an MP in a few years! Maybe you can request Seattle. I would absolutely go on splits with you to SU's house...

Only if he lies about his involvement with this website.

It would be interesting to have a member of this board serve as MP and remain an active member, giving occasional reports.

 That is a very unfortunate choice for my mission's new president.

That is not going to happen but if it did I would watch over all Ute football players in my care and protect them from Bronco's minions.

Costa Rica is still one mission, and likely always will be. There are only approx. 4 million people in the whole of the country.

Looking at the list of new missions, two of the 58 are from my mission, Brazil Sao Paulo North. There are now 6 missions in the same area. Growth there has been pretty amazing. A couple of very small branches I served in are now stakes. One of them is now 2 stakes. Amazing.

So Bakersfield, CA is going to be its own mission. I cant think of a more boring mission call.... I mean we only have 3 stakes here, no Temple and nothing to do. Yuck...

I hear the church is going to start mandating the use of Axe to increase conversions, especially in suburban areas.

I wish my mission had been more like this :)

Going to Costa Rica for spring break. Sadly, I don't believe we'll be anywhere near the temple during the week.
