Pilots and maintainers from the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings at Hill AFB, Utah, deployed the F-35A Lightning II at Nellis AFB Jan. 20 and began flying in the exercise Jan. 23. Performance has been nothing short of amazing with a 92% mission capable rate and a 15-1 ratio in air-to-air combat. And yet this piece carries the headline "1 F-35A 'Shot Down' by Aggressors at Red Flag 17-01":

https://theaviationist.com/2017/02/28/red-flag-confirmed-f-35-dominance-with-a-201-kill-ratio-u-s-air-force-says/Thanks, the article restores my faith in the US defense industry technology. About a decade ago I was visiting Warton Aerodome outside Preston, UK and saw some Typhoons doing touch & go's. They're a neat looking fighter. Warton is also a kick, loaded with history.
