We have eaten at 2 of them, but it has been at least 10 years.

LOL! My first date with my wife we went to Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta and our wedding breakfast/lunch thing was at Archibalds. Fortunately we've not been back to either since although we talk about returning to Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta all the time to commemorate our first date. My wife and I both felt ill the day after we got married, we chalked it up to all the stress of the big day and all that, but maybe it was simply a little salmonella from Archibalds.

I've also been to Midvale Mining Cafe just once, thought it was "meh".

I used to visit the Panda regularly for the Mongolian BBQ lunch. Inevitably I would get a nasty headache every afternoon. I always attributed it to the MSG.

A member of this board who shall remain nameless once recommended Fiddler's Elbow as a place to watch sports. I assume he wasn't talking about the food. At least he better not have been.

I've eaten at a couple, and frankly I don't really worry about it.

One thing you have to look at is what's a "critical" violation. Some are serious, others really aren't (at least to me. Not having an asterisk to denote animal products may be undercooked is not critical in my world. I'd prefer one telling me the restaurant is destroying my beautiful steak)

When they first started publishing these I looked at a lot of the places I eat at regularly, what surprised me was how inconsistent inspections are. Some would get inspected 2 or 3 times a year. Others would go years between inspections.

When my buddy was going through leukemia and a bone marrow transplant and his immune system was non-existent they told him that if he wanted to commit suicide to just go and eat at a chinese buffet. I can't help but notice the high number of buffet-style restaurants on that list.

And Scratch, Panda was also a favorite in high school and college (I think mostly because we felt like we could get as much food as we could compress into a bowl) and so I went back a couple of months ago. It was hard to have gone downhill in the first place, but somehow it did. I feared for my life and wondered how they weren't completely shut down because of health violations.
