Sigh ... Deja but, 2017 is already looking like 2016

I will forever be grateful to Brandon Crawford for wearing his country's colors. Plus, the guy can flat-out play. I'm calling it -- he's the best SS in the game today -- in a day when we are blessed with an overabundance of great SS. I know, I know, Lindor & Correa....I get it. I'm still sticking with Crawford.

I blame Applejack for this dismal Giants team. I sense that he isn't living right on and off the field.

Worst first half of the season ever by the Giants. 26 games out of first place

Scorcho and Applejack talk about the San Francisco Baseball Giants

I think the Dodgers have more wins than any other MLB team. How are the Giants doing this season, BTW?

#SFGiants have acquired three-time All-Star Evan Longoria from Tampa Bay in exchange for Denard Span, Christian Arroyo and minor league pitchers Stephen Woods and Matt Krook.

Too bad for them they couldn't get him before he sucked.

all I ask is that the 2018 Giants at least finish ahead of the Padres

  12. #102
We could rename this thread to "70 Wins: Asking Too Much?"

Of course, as a Braves fan I don't have much to talk about. At least the Braves aren't paying $200M to lose 90 games.

hello darkness, my dear old friend

the Giants have scored 1 or fewer runs in 10 of 18 games. It's time to blow this up.

I love Bruce Bochy. He's a first ballot HOF'er, but its clearly time for him to hang 'em up.

Second season in a row they'll finish sub .500

Can't blame it on Bochy (nor can you really credit him for their great seasons). It's all about talent, and the Giants have very little of it.

Of course, on some occasions there are some managers who are so pitiful that they can still manage to squander enormous talent. Right, LA?

Last time I checked (about 30 seconds ago) the Boys in Blue were only 1.5 games out of first place in the West. As opposed to the Western Bay Area Franchise, which is 13.5 games out. The Orange County Franchise is a mere 19.5 games behind in the AL West.

I'm a Braves fan. And the point is that the Dodgers have way more talent than anyone in the NL West, and probably more than anyone in the NL outside of Chicago.

As a Cubs fan, I would take the Dodgers roster all day, everyday over the Cubs. The Cubs pitching staff has come around finally with Hamels finding new life and some of the other guys (like Hendricks and Quintana) coming on after starting slowly, but the Dodgers still have the edge with Kershaw (still an ace even if he's slipped a little) and several other solid starters. In the lineup the Cubs have had several guys decline at the plate to the point that they are cover-your-eyes awful (Russell, Contreras, Almora, Happ--even though Happ was the hero tonight). If those guys were playing somewhere near their peak it might be a close race, but as things currently stand I'd take the Dodgers roster without blinking.

I really hope the Dodgers miss the playoffs--they are the team I feel least confident against.

The Giants roster is awful. It's not Bochy's fault. That is going to take some time to rebuild.

I am jealous of scratch getting to watch Acuna for the next several years. That kid is amazing.

That two week period between the end of the WS and the start of Spring practice goes faster every year.

Bummer, I just heard about that late last night. May's is getting up there as well and his health hasn't been great.

Bruce Bochy is retiring at the end of the 2019 season. He told his players during a meeting this morning.

San Francisco’s offseason has once again been phenomenal. I think they’ve added a few new groundskeepers, a garlic fries chef and someone to laugh at Jon Miller’s jokes.
