Do we really though? I'm used to sports boards being populated exclusively with lawyers and accountants (all day in front of a screen); this board seems more diverse.

Of the top of my head, the only lawyers I can think of are LA, SeattleUTe, Scratch, me, MpFunk, and concerned. I'm sure I'm missing some, but we have a lot of people that have a more interesting life (DevilDog, Diehard, Justin, etc).

    A walk down memory lane:

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
    --Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold."
    --Yeats

“True, we [lawyers] build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures - unless as amateurs for our own principal amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state.”

I think we have more engineers than lawyers, but Rocker, U-Ute, Wally and others of their ilk don't want to talk about that. They need scapegoats, and lawyers are perfect for that. It's OK, though; we are used to persecution.

I'm a lowly b-school grad with a masters in IS, so I don't measure up to the engineers, lawyers or doctors who frequent message boards. You can imagine my parent's disappointment.

My grandfather and uncle were both 3rd District Court judges. My cousin works as a prosecutor in the county attorney's office. They love lawyer jokes.

Q: What do you have when you have a lawyer buried in cement up to his neck?

    A: Not enough cement.

Oddly enough, much to his chagrin, all of my grandfather's sons are engineers.

Q: How do you tell the difference between a dead skunk lying in the road and a dead lawyer lying in the road?

A: There are skid marks in front of the skunk.
