Despite our history with Arizona, coupled with the fact that I've already picked against Oregon State, it's time to trot out my Utah pick for this contest. GO UTES!

I can't see this shirt, damn! Also, I'm not sure, but I think you just called me fat.

I guess I don't have to worryabout a letdown. At least in the first quarter, they look terrific.

Does it strike anyone else as suspicious that Applejack is doing well in the contest he himself constructed? Just sayin'.

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
    --Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold."
    --Yeats

“True, we [lawyers] build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures - unless as amateurs for our own principal amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state.”

As the defending champion that has been knocked out here...this is my message to the winner:

    "You're alright LaRusso"

“It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.”

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

    Thanks! Very big of you.

Do the Final Four want to send picks to a neutral third party, to keep picks secret until the games?

Going to have to go with the Colorado Buffal-kills this week.

I can only pick two teams -- Oregon State or Stanford. Now I kinda know how Sancho feels. Gotta go with Stanford.

I'll also tell you that Cal over Oregon is my pick for the following week, as it's the only option I'll have.

AJ, what are the rules when there are no options -- ie, all your results have been exhausted. Is that grounds for elimination?

Yes, if you can't pick you are eliminated. But, truthfully that almost never happens. There is always SOMEONE to pick.

For example, this week you could take Arizona over USC (c'mon Wildcats), or UCLA over WSU, in addition to Stanford or Oregon State. Bye weeks make the next few weeks kind of tough.

    I'm taking the Cougars.

There are two rules to picking this contest: never bet against a home favorite, and never trust Wazzu to show up. Here's hoping Wazzu shows up.

    Utah

I have waited weeks to pick us over OSU, and now weather and rb injuries have made this very dicey

Everyone advances! That is the first time that has happened this year, and it might be a first for this late in a season.

    The matchups this week:

    Oregon @ Cal (Fri)
    Colorado @ Stanford
    Utah @ UCLA
    Oregon State @ Washington
    Washington State @ Arizona State

Well, farts. My only reasonable choices (i.e. not picking OSU over Washington) are to pick the Utes to lose or to ride with the Tree over CU. Can't go against the Utes (even though my head says that may be the smarter pick) so the Tree it is.

That's how I felt filling out my mail-in ballot.
