I didn't watch his show, but he's a big enough figure that most people know a little about him. His attitude reminded me of my LDS mission to Peru. On the plane to Lima, I started to wonder what food would be like in Peru. I decided that I would love everything about the food, and from there I decided I would just love everything about the nation, the people, and the culture. I always felt bad for the missionaries who didn't make that decision.

Anyway, without knowing much about him and without having watched his show, I feel a small kinship just knowing that we shared a love of good food and meeting people.

“It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.”

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
