Everyone that made a prediction advanced this week, except for our resident college football expert, toolblue. So long, good and true friend.

    This week:

San Jose at Oregon (note: this game is off-limits for those that picked wazzu last week).
    Oregon State at Nevada
    USC at Texas
    Washington at Utah
    Asu at sdsu
    Fresno State at ucla

So, to win this thing do I need to pick every Pac 12 team to win at some point?

No! No one has ever done that. All you have to do is outlast everyone else.

How can you avoid picking OSU with the one winner rule?

Well, you wouldn't have to pick them until week 12 (theoretically) and since the competition has never lasted until week 12 (not to mention week 7) I think you'll be in the clear. Plus, I think OSU might surprise some people this year.

Tough one this week, a pick'em with USC and two teams that should win but are favored to lose.

me too. Can UCLA really be that bad? Fresno is actually favored. (ASU week 1, WSU week 2)

    Week 1 - Wazzu
    Week 2 - Cal
Week 3 - Arizona St - playing to win the game.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Also, you may not realize that you can only pick a team to lose once. So if you picked Stanford to beat USC last week, you could not pick another team to beat USC. That is why this contest only lasts until about Halloween. You can't pick Oregon State to lose every week.

Question for Applejack: does the restriction against picking a team more than once apply to all schools or just Pac 12 schools? Can you pick both Stanford and USC to beat Notre Dame (or the reverse)? Same re Cal/Utah and BYU?

(I realize its academic since one of the Notre Dame games and the Utah/BYU game are so late in the season that it will never come to that. But still. And it wold not be academic re Cal/UW v. BYU)

No. You can't pick the same team to lose twice, regardless of what conference they belong to. It actually affects this week: San Jose State played Washington State last week and therefore those people that picked Wazzu cannot pick Oregon who plays SJSU this week.

It could be a quick contest this year! This week features many games where the predicted winner is the predicted loser in Vegas: Utah, Ucla, USC. And Asu could lose too (favored by 5). The only sure thing this week is Oregon.

I hope SoCalPat doesn't win the whole thing in week 3.

My pick: The Oregon State Beavers! They are back, baby.

I almost took OSU, but I remember the year I was co-champ with Scorcho, and that year we were over by Nov. 1. This year's winner won't have to pick OSU, either.

I'll take Oregon State over Nevada.

(Tracking: Week 1- Cal over UNC, Week 2- WSU over SJSU)
