Korean War Remembered -- Why it Still Matters

It's the war that never really ended -- leaving the Korean peninsula splintered in 1953.

My dad served during the Korean War. Early on, he was identified as a fluent speaker and interpreter of French (had just returned from a mission in France). He wound up at Fort Benning as an interpreter for visiting French officers. His main function was to translate and interpret between U.S. and French brass. He ate where they ate, golfed with them, etc.

He was fortunate. Many of his original basic training group didn't make it home from Korea.
    Desse jeito, não tem jeito.
