    Baseball Recruiting

What's it going to take for Utah to get in the game as far as recruiting and playing ball in a big boy conference?

Honestly, It will take baseball in the state improving. Because the scholarship pool is only 11.7 scholarships for 30 players, most of the players are paying for some of their ride and several are not receiving any scholarship money. So, you in state pool becomes very important as these are the players most likely to walk on at your school.

How realistic is this? With the shortened season and other spring sports - soccer, rugby, lacrosse, track - it doesn't seem like there as as many kids playing baseball. Maybe that's how it seems in my area.

Utah tends to do well in national youth tournaments. The trouble is keeping them on the hook. Southern Utah is big in baseball. Too bad the population isn't as large as the Wasatch Front(only from the viewpoint of developing baseball players )
