Alex to the Chiefs? Being reported by the DesNews as a possibility. Apparently Andy Reid likes what he sees.
I could start cheering for the Chiefs.

If KC hangs on to Bowe, that would be a decent situation for Alex to walk into.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Alex will probably make more money with his new contract than he would have with the last 49ers deal.
This. and as MRD pointed out, he will have a great target in Bowe (and the tight end, moeai?), plus a decent running back in Charles. Offensive line issues get fixed, and it sounds like a good fit for Alex.
Harbaugh may have empowered Smith to play tougher and with more confidence. But, I think that Alex can lead independent of Harbaugh, and under Andy Reid, i expect Alex to be the unquestioned leader of the offense. He's no longer meek and shy - he has shown that he can win.
all of a sudden i'm a kc chief fan. the weddle v. alex matchup will be fun to see 2 times each year.
I saw a lot of 49ers games this year on tv. Don't recall many Chiefs games being broadcast in my area. Not paying for NFL Sunday Ticket. Looks like I'll be streaming games.
I heard on the radio about an hour ago that the Chiefs did trade for Alex Smith. The trade is effective March 12.

“True, we [lawyers] build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures - unless as amateurs for our own principal amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state.”

nothing to do with Alex, but looks like the 49ers just picked up Boldin from the Ravens for a 6th round pick. wtf? seems like the 49ers got the better end of this deal in a big way. almost 1,000 yards this year, 4 touchdowns including a td in the super bowl. am i missing something here?
