i am almost convinced that the only place to get decent mexican food is in texas, arizona, new mexico, or from a taco truck.

“True, we [lawyers] build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures - unless as amateurs for our own principal amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state.”

So I said to David Eckstein, "You promised me, Eckstein, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I noticed that during the most trying periods of my life, there have only been one set of prints in the sand. Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?" David Eckstein replied, "Because my little legs had gotten tired, and you were carrying me." And I looked down and saw that I was still carrying David Eckstein.

Lorenas in West Bountiful can't be beat for great Mexican!
I don't mind Cafe Rio for what it is. I realize it is not "authentic" but I quite enjoy some of the stuff they make. I also enjoy "real" Mexican food from other places or our favorite spot in Old Town San Diego.
GUBA, what place in Old Town do you like? I went to one of the restaurants last time I was down there and was underwhelmed.
Some of the best advice I was given was to stay away from Mexican food above the Utah southern border all the way north into Canada, then into Canada.

Would you fear them?

What was that for?

Mmmmm....went and had me some tacos for lunch today at Cafe Rio. Good stuff!
Iguana, Chungas and the place across the street from chungas are great Mexican food in SLC.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but I haven't yet tried any of the taco carts. Are they all pretty much the same, or are some locations better than others? What's best to order?
I like Cafe Rio. For Mexican food I like the vendors in the Sears parking lot, El Chubasco in Park City, Red Iguana and Chungas
If I'm going for cafe rio fast food stuff I'd rather go to Barbacoa, better food and I can get beer if I want
