Nice piece here about Kershaw and Trout and the classy way they approach stardom.

BTW, doing some baseball history research the other day I had my memory jogged on previous names for the loathsome baseball team that now plays in LA and wears blue (ugh), and have decided to never use that team's nickname ever again. Similar to how some Ute fans won't speak the name of the team that knocked them out of the NCAA tournament 6 times in 13 years or how some don't use the name of the Washington NFL team anymore. So, from now on, they will be called the Superbas.

Next time I am in D.C. let's have lunch. Loser of the last game between the Dodgers and the federal city franchise buys.

Nice to see the 2014 Dodgers are apparently still using their 2013 bullpen.

Padres are leading the NL West! Well, at least I get to enjoy that for at least one day this year.

They do appear to have a weakness in the bullpen. Time will tell. At the end of all that time, however, they will still be the Dodgers and your team will still be the Anaheim franchise.

Excellent, sounds like a great plan. Wouldn't it be great to have a Strasburg v. Kershaw Game 7 for the NL pennant. That would be epic.

Enjoy looking up at the Giants in the standings, Dodgers fans. Good luck on securing a wildcard.

I think you should start a Giants thread. Otherwise, we will mock and ridicule you mercilessly in this one.

That would be a short thread. How did we get so many Dodgers fans on this site? Is it a Utah thing?

I've been a Giants fan since the days of Billy Swift and Jack Clark. I have spent many cold days and nights in Candlestick and warmer days and nights in AT&T.

    Go Orange and Black

I'll contribute to a Giants thread and mock the TDS.

    Kershaw dominates Nats in return

WASHINGTON -- Clayton Kershaw returned from the disabled list on Tuesday night, and the Dodgers were thrilled to get him back. The Nationals, on the other hand, probably weren't exactly overjoyed to see the left-hander....

You're just jealous because you don't have an autographed Clayton Kershaw poster on your wall.

Kershaw just tossed a No-Hitter. What an amazing game. He was straight filthy tonight. 15 k's. His curve ball couldn't be touched tonight.

Freaking Hanley Ramirez ruined his perfect game.

  24. #174
27 outs with an error is more impressive than just a plain old 27 outs anyway, right?

With 15 strikeouts and holding opposing hitters to 0-28 with no walks and no hbp has to be one of the best few pitching performances in history.

Here's video of the end of the game, with Vin Scully calling it all the way to the last out:

This won't be his last no-no. I'll bet he gets a perfect game too before he's done.

I'll take that bet, and that's not a comment on Kershaw; he's probably most likely of any pitcher out there to throw one.

It was Vin Scully's 19th no hitter call.

His call of the ninth inning of Koufax's perfect game has been described as pure baseball literature.
