Wow, I'm so glad this thread is a thing again! I agree with each of the three previous posts, very excited about the upcoming Band Of Horses and Okkervil River albums.

Two things I've been digging lately:

    1. Pete Yorn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pCklO0gb3Y

    2. Boy & Bear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEUY7dXsxrk

    Both albums are top notch.

I'm not an audiophile, but I just won some Beats headphones. On the Apple site, they sell for $300, which is just crazy. Anyway, they are amazing. I've been listening to little laptop speakers or my Kindle's speakers for years. It feels like I'm seeing in color for the first time or something. Even playing a dumb little game on my tablet is different. Anyway, don't call me - I won't hear the phone ring.

(CNN)The 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."The Swedish Academy's permanent secretary, Sara Danius, said Dylan, 75, "is a great poet in the English-speaking tradition." She drew parallels between his work and that of ancient Greek poets.

Going out with the Mrs to see the G.O.A.T tonight. Bob Dylan at the cozy, 2,000 seat mission ballroom. Easily the greatest American artist of all time. Not sure who is in 2nd place.

For the Mt Rushmore of American artists, we have Bob representing music. Who represents visual art and literature? Who gets the 4th spot? An actor or filmmaker? An architect? A 2nd musician, author, or visual artist?

going to Organ Fest at the Cathederal of the Madeline tonight. It features 5 organist including the current Tab Choir guy.

It's not Bob Dylan, but its considerably less expensive.

I'm headed to an organ concert this Thursday. I used to do my HW on Sunday nights. There was a 1 hour Grateful Dead hour on the radio and then a 1 hour program called "Pipe Dreams" with organ music. It was pretty good HW music.
